Two roads diverged in a woods, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.
This is me, how I've lived my life, and how I'm choosing to approach you, my clients.
BODYWORK FOR A CAUSE...MY WAY OF GIVING BACK TO HELP ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.
This year I have decided to donate $10 from every session as well as matching any tips given to help a wonderful family in need. A family of 7, Dad was recently in a motorcycle accident and has left him unable to find steady work, Mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is just started chemotherapy. I will also be offering chair massage events all by donation only to go directly to the family. If you want to schedule an event like this please contact me. I will be doing this all year and as long as it takes to ensure the family has what they need. If you care to make a donation to them, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, my name is Shawn Gott, LMT. I have taken a few of those roads Robert Frost speaks of. All of these pathways along my journey and the people I have met along the way, have all helped to create the massage therapists that wants to work with you, to create better health and overall well being, to improve your life's journey, one massage at a time.
I started out my journey in Hampden at Hampden Academy where I studied business and music. From there I furthered my business education at Thomas College and then onto Bentley University in Waltham, MA. with a B.S. Degree in Marketing. After a variety of careers in the business world, I chose to once again take that new road down a much tastier path. I worked to obtain my Associates degree in Culinary Arts from EMCC in Bangor, ME. I worked as a pastry chef for years until medical issues once again caused a divergence in the road again.
While going to school, I started caring for children by driving school bus for MSAD 54. I have the chance to influence some wonderful kids and it provides much joy in my life.
Bringing me to the current road that I am on and hopefully the last change in pathways.
I went back to school, at the Therapeutic Bodywork Learning Center in Brewer, ME, to get my license as a massage therapist. Through this training also earning my Reiki II certification. I have found a great passion in this field. The colleagues that I have been able to develop wonderful relationships with, have helped to shape who I am and the direction I'm choosing to take with my practice. My goal is to provide individualized care for each of my clients to determine your need or desire for massage or energy work and the correct pathway to assist you in developing a healthy plan to increase your health and overall wellness. If it is to simply relax, to reduce stress, improve muscle function, recover from injuries and surgeries, relieve migraines and headaches or something more specific like trying to fight the symptoms of Fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, suicidal tendencies or PTSD, we can work together to build a plan to increase your health.
Trained through the Upledger Institute in CranioSacral Therapy 1 & 2, which will also help with the above concerns.
I invite you to call and schedule an appointment, it will be the best relationship you can develop to give yourself the care and attention that we all knead in our lives.
